LAST year, the Brunei Computer Emergency Response Team (BruCert) recorded 2,143 attacks on cybersecurity in Brunei, of which 38 per cent was caused by malicious software. According to a survey by the World Economic Forum 2018, cyber attacks are listed as one of the key risks of doing business, while a study conducted by Accenture showed that a malware attack on a company will cost an estimated USD2.4 million, with an average time of recovery within 50 days.
