THE body of a 51-year-old local man floating in the waters of Sungai Lampai near the Kampong Pintu Malim Mosque in the capital yesterday afternoon was discovered by a member of the public, the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) said.
Personnel at Kampong Ayer Police Station, informed of the discovery at 5.08pm yesterday, rushed to the scene with the Marine Police.
The body was sent to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital for a post-mortem. Police said the man, believed to have drowned, was identified by family members as Jefri bin Haji Munaf.
Police said members of the public who have any information on the matter may report it to the authorities.
Investigations are continuing.
