THE importance of water as the main source of life was highlighted in yesterday’s pre-dawn talk delivered by Director of Public and International Relations Centre at the Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Haji Sammali bin Haji Adam.
“Without water, we would not be able to live a secure, comfortable and complete life. Thus, as consumers and the servants of Allah the Almighty, we should not only give thanks for its benefits, but also exercise sensitivity and responsibility in the consumption of water,” he said.
Among those present were Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar; Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud; Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar; Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof and Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.
Also in attendance were Deputy Minister of Development Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin and Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof.
Initiated by the Ministry of Religious Affairs through its Mosque Affairs Department, the Islamic Da’wah Centre and the Islamic Syiar Development Division, the talk is part of the Masjidku Makmur, Negaraku Berkat programme to encourage the presence of more congregants for mass Subuh prayers at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque.
