FORTY-THREE students who achieved academic excellence last year received recognition during the Brunei Basketball Association’s Chinese New Year reception on Friday.
Held at the Orchid Garden Hotel, the dinner was attended by Legislative Council member YB Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Goh King Chin, with the chairman of the association, Lim Ting Guan, as well as members of the association and honorary advisors.
In his welcoming remarks, Lim Ting Guan vowed to increase interest in basketball by organising more tournaments in the coming months. He expressed hopes that committee members would work together as a team to bring the game to basketball to new heights.
He added that the association welcomes basketball enthusiast to join as members to help promote the game in Brunei.
