THE 4th educational visit from the 5th intake of the National Service Programme (PKBN) participants to the Brunei History Centre took place yesterday. Two platoons comprised of 70 PKBN participants and advisers are the last delegation to visit the centre following three other visits from peers of the 5th PKBN intake.

The event began with the national anthem, a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, as well as welcoming remarks from Hanafi bin Haji Salleh, Acting Deputy Principal of the Brunei History Centre.

This was followed by a briefing titled ‘Kenali Negara Kitani’ led by Mundus Haji Jaya, a question and answer session, and a group photo session.

Members of the delegation then joined group activities where four groups were led by the Research and Documentation Section; the Library and Learning Section; and the Exhibition and Service Section. The groups visited the Genealogy Gallery and the Manuscript Collection Gallery, and learned the methods of – wrapping tombstones, Jawi calligraphy, and genealogy construction.

The objective of the visit is to give exposure on the techniques and methods of research as well as the history of Brunei to the PKBN participants.
