MORE than 6,000 enthusiastic participants will be involved at a field performance for the 32nd National Day celebration on Tuesday. The full dress rehearsal was held yesterday at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (Taman SOAS) in the capital.
The event was the third series of its kind in ensuring the smooth running of the march-past parade and sequences of the field performance. For this year parade, 126 teams will be participating for the memorable days.
Witnessing the event was the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Chairman of the Executive Committee for 32nd National Day celebration, who commended the participants for their confidence and vibrant performances.
He hoped that the participants will show their very best during the actual day in front of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and other members of the royal family.
The minister also touched on this year’s theme ‘Generation with a Vision’ (Generasi Berwawasan). He explained that even though the theme has been retained for the past three years, but it is still relevant in today’s context.

The minister added that, as youths are assets of the country, therefore, in line with the theme that the Sultanate needs youths who have vision, industrious, diligence and able to contribute to the country’s developments.
A total of 126 teams comprised of 21,000 participants representing various agencies and institutions will fill the capital of Bandar Seri Begawan on Tuesday, February 23, to show their patriotic spirits for the 32nd National Day celebration. All walks of life will gather with the aim to do their best for the pride of the nation.
