THE Ministry of Development (MoD) hosted an appreciation ceremony yesterday for 146 officers and staff members who recently retired from service at the ministry.
The guest of honour was Dato Paduka Awang Haji Bahrin bin Abdullah, the Minister of Development.
In his speech, Pengiran Kamis bin Pengiran Metamin, Acting Director of Administration and Finance in his capacity as chairman of the event, said that retirees can still contribute to the country by being actively involved in business ventures, working with the private sector, doing volunteer work or attending religious events.
The minister then presented the retirees – comprising of 106 men and 40 women – with souvenirs and certificates of appreciation.
Also present at yesterday’s ceremony were Dato Paduka Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, the Deputy Minister of Development; Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MoD together with heads of departments and staff members.
