A 26-STRONG acrobatic troupe from China is currently in Brunei Darussalam and is set to perform for the Chinese New Year get-together ceremony at the International Convention Centre next week.
Here on an invitation from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Brunei, the troupe was busy with rehearsals yesterday morning.
Mr Bu, the head of the Jiansgu Acrobatic Troupe, said in an interview, “It is a privilege to be able to perform for the people of Brunei Darussalam. I hope the audience will really enjoy the performance.”
“This is our first visit to Brunei, and we find it a beautiful country, with very friendly and warm people. The environment here is clean and green,” he added.
The Jiangsu Acrobatic troupe has a 3,000 year history dating back to the Han Dynasty and the present members’ ages range from as young as 10 to 22 years old.
