A NEWBORN baby girl with the umbilical cord still attached was found abandoned yesterday morning outside a house in Kampong Perpindahan Lambak Kanan.
The police said they received a distress call at 6.52am and immediately went over to conduct an investigation.
The baby is believed to have been forsaken and placed in front of the house.
According to the police, the house owner heard a baby cry before discovering her and immediately called 993.
With the assistance of ambulance, the police took the baby to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital for a full check-up.
The baby girl is in healthy condition and is now in the care of RIPAS Hospital.
The Women and Child Abuse Crime Investigation Unit of the Royal Brunei Police Force immediately conducted an investigation and successfully located the mother who has been taken to the RIPAS Hospital for further investigation.
