PAP Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences (IHS) of Univesiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) recently invited the Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) to deliver a motivational Careers Talk for students undertaking nursing, midwifery and paramedic studies.

The event held at the Lecture Theatre in the IHS, according to a press release, was attended by Associate Professor Anne Cunningham, Deputy Dean in Research, Graduate Studies and Global Affairs, as well as Armah Tengah and Rajiah Haji Serudin, Programme Leader and Assistant Programme Leader for Nursing and Midwifery.

The talk was initiated by opening remarks delivered by Chung Yea Fui, the Director of Nursing at JPMC, in which she explained that being a nurse is a rewarding career. Following this, students listened to talks delivered by guests who had previously completed their studies in the country, and are now working as nurses at the JPMC. The speakers included Rozi Ismail, Diana Nurulkamilah Yakup and Siti Norhijanah Zatul Amal binti Haji Awang Zainal.

After the presentation, students were given the opportunity to ask questions and raise any concerns in regards to nursing. The IHS and JPMC then exchanged tokens of appreciation.
