Identifying current limitations and future solutions and opportunities is important in developing Brunei Darussalam’s agribusiness sector, said Professor Peter J Batt.
In an interview on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the workshop on facilitating agribusiness development, he said, “Brunei has significant opportunities both in import replacement as well as future export industries, particularly producing Halal-certified products and exporting not only to the region but also internationally. Investments are therefore required in all levels of industries, from production through processing, and particularly in infrastructure. It is important that in the industrial space proper access to these resources and infrastructure are needed in order for Brunei be competitive in the market.”
