A TRUCK carrying sand overturned after it lost control on the Tutong-Muara Highway at Bukit Panggal area, yesterday.
According to the police, the driver lost control of his truck when its front right tyre burst.
The vehicle moved further ahead about 100 metres where it overturned, spilling sand all over the road.
The police said they received a call at around 11am.
No serious injury was reported and no other vehicles were hit during the incident.
Some members of the public recently called for introducing more safety measures requiring heavy vehicles carrying goods such as sand and gravel on public roads to undergo a more stringent inspection protocol to prevent similar incident from recurring.
