WITH nearly a week into operation, the new Berakas Health Centre in RPN Lambak Kanan received positive feedback from members of the public, as the Ministry of Health (MoH) continuously strives to provide the best healthcare services to the community.
The three-storey Berakas Health Centre, a $14-million facility built on a 4.45-acre of land, is the first health centre in the country that focuses on providing the best customer experience in line with the MoH’s revamped client charter.
When the Weekend Bulletin paid visit to centre yesterday, patients shared their contentment with the efficient and friendly services provided and also the more conducive environment that makes for a more comfortable visit.
Haji Sidup bin Tujuh from Kampong Rimba, who was accompanying his wife for a medical check-up, shared that apart from giving more comfort, the fresh design and layout of the building also offers patients with more conducive and modern facilities.
Sharing the same sentiment, Liza binti Zaman from Kampong Sungai Tilong said the strategic location adds more convenience to residents in the surrounding neighbourhoods in addition to the faster appointment system that allows patients to plan ahead and be more organised with their time.
A resident of STKRJ Kampong Lambak Kiri, Rosmanisah binti Haji Ismail mentioned that the facilities and services offered in the centre is more cosy and appropriate.
The appointment-only based health centre allows patients to be given a time slot, enabling them to better manage their time, as opposed to the conventional system that involves meticulous registrations and hours-long wait for a doctor.
With the new system, patients may call or visit the health centre for an appointment where they will be given the earlier, or most convenient, time slot on the day itself.
Only one appointment is given per patient, who will need to arrive at the facility at least half an hour before the set appointment.
As a further initiative, the Berakas Health Centre will also be extending its operating hours from 7am to 9pm on Monday to Thursday and Saturday, and from 2pm to 9pm on Friday, Sunday and public holidays.
