IN THE midst of the holy month of Ramadhan, the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) paid their respects in a recitation of Surah Yaasiin, Tahlil and prayer ceremony for the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman at the Royal Mausoleum in Jalan Tutong.
The event was attended by the Commander of the RBAF, Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah.
The recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil was led by Major Ariffin bin Amit, Assistant Head of Religious Department at RBAF (JA’MAAT) who later read the Doa Arwah.
Some 200 officers and personnel including members of Defence Executive Committee, commandants, directors, senior officers and officers of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF attended the event.
Other RBAF services will also be holding the same Tahlil ceremony on separate occasions which will be headed by their respective Service Commanders.
