Prime Minister’s Office holds Tedarus

THE Prime Minister’s Office and its departments continued its series of Tedarus events for the Year 1437H/2016 with a ceremony at Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Mateen Mosque in Kampong Mulaut yesterday.

The event was jointly organised by the State Mufti’s Office, Media and Cabinet Division at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Internal Security Department and Radio Televisyen Brunei with the cooperation of the Mosque Takmir Committee of Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Mateen Mosque.

Present at the ceremony were Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti; Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Awang Haji Salim bin Haji Besar, Chief Syar’ie Judge; Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamdan bin Haji Abu Bakar, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; Haji Yahya bin Haji Idris, Permanent Secretary (Corporate and Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office; and Dato Seri Setia Haji Metussin bin Haji Baki, Syariah High Court Judge.

Also present were senior officers and staff of the Prime Minister’s Office and its departments as well as residents of Kampong Mulaut and the area.

The proceedings began with a presentation of Waqaf in the form of two vacuum cleaners, four water dispensers and 16 mats which were presented by the State Mufti to the Imam of Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Mateen Mosque.

The ceremony then continued with recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by recitation of the Al-Quran from Juz 16 to Juz 30. The event then proceeded with a Tahlil, Doa Arwah and Doa Selamat, followed by the breaking of fast and mass Maghrib prayers.

In a press release, the organisers state that religious activities such as this will continue to be held throughout the month of Ramadhan towards enlivening the holy month and attain blessings from Allah the Almighty.

It was also shared that the Prime Minister’s Office and its departments will continue with its Tedarus ceremonies next on Tuesday, June 14 at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam Mosque. Meanwhile, a Khatam Al-Quran event for the Prime Minister’s Office will be held on Monday, June 20 at the Ash-Shaliheen Mosque.
