A NUZUL Al-Quran ceremony was held yesterday at the Kampong Bunut Mosque, by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and all the departments under it.
Present as the guest of honour was Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Home Affairs.
The religious event began with a mass Zohor prayer, prior to the recitation of verses from the Al-Quran. It continued with a religious talk delivered by Ustaz Haji Mohammad Khairul Nazif bin Haji Damit, an assistant lecturer of the Faculty of Usuluddin at the Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA).
The ceremony ended with a recitation of the Doa Selamat.
Also present were the Permanent Secretary at the MoHA, the Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the MoHA; and members of the Legislative Council.
This year, the event was co-hosted by the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) and the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC).
