THE Bangladesh High Commission in Brunei Darussalam hosted a Hari Raya open house at the high commissioner’s residence in Kampong Sungai Hanching.
Present to greet the guests were the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Brunei Darussalam, Mohammed Abdul Hye, and his wife, Dr Tahmina Begum.
Among the guests were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak ‘Abdul Haseeb bin Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim, the son of Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah; senior government officials; members of the Diplomatic Corps; and Bangladesh expatriates working in Brunei Darussalam.
In an interview, the high commissioner said that this is his third year celebrating Aidilfitri in Brunei Darussalam and it has been a worthwhile experience.
Guests indulged in Bangladeshi dishes such as Briyani rice, grilled chicken, and Gosto Aloo and the Bangladeshi dessert Semai, a combination of sweet rice vermicelli with milk and sugar.
Another open house was held on the 1st of Syawal for the Bangladeshi community living and working in Brunei Darussalam.
