AirAsia celebrates consecutive award wins with special fares

AIRASIA and AirAsia X have announced special promotional fares to celebrate their continued winning streak at the Skytrax Awards.

AirAsia was named the ‘World’s Best Low-Cost Airline’ and Asia’s ‘Best Low-Cost Airline’ for the eighth year in a row while AirAsia X won ‘World’s Best Low-Cost Premium Cabin’ and ‘World’s Best Low-Cost Premium Seat’ for the fourth year running at the event, which was held at Farnborough Airshow.

AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes said, “Being named Skytrax World’s Best Low-Cost Airline for the eighth year running is very special to me and everyone at AirAsia. No other airline has won a World’s Best award this many times in a row. It truly is an amazing achievement and we want to thank our guests who voted for us.”

AirAsia X Group CEO Datuk Kamarudin Meranun said, “Winning these awards for four consecutive years shows low cost doesn’t have to mean low quality. We hope our special base and Premium Flatbed fares will allow more people to fly in comfort and experience just what a fantastic product we have as they visit our long-haul destinations.”

The promotional fares lets guest fly with AirAsia to destinations including Hong Kong, Singapore, Phuket, Krabi, Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Pekanbaru, Ho Chi Minh City.

To go extra long, AirAsia X features destinations such as Shanghai, Perth, Auckland, Tehran and Mauritius. Those planning to fly on AirAsia X can also upgrade to Premium Flatbed seats.

AirAsia X Premium Flatbeds feature universal power sockets, adjustable headrests and built-in personal utilities such as tray table, drink holder, reading light and privacy screen. Guests travelling on Premium Flatbeds can also enjoy premium complimentary products and services including priority check-in, priority boarding, priority baggage, 40kg baggage allowance, complimentary meals and a pillow and duvet.

These special fares can be booked starting today (0000, GMT +8) to July 24 (2400, GMT +8) for travel between January 4, 2017 and August 21, 2017.

They are applicable to AirAsia flights operated by AirAsia Malaysia (flight code AK), AirAsia Thailand (FD), AirAsia Indonesia (QZ), AirAsia Philippines (Z2) and AirAsia India (I5), as well as AirAsia X flights on Malaysia AirAsia X (D7) and Thai AirAsia X (XJ).

As an added bonus, guests flying with AirAsia Malaysia (AK) can also earn 8x AirAsia BIG points when they pre-book baggage, meals, seats, insurance or BIG Duty Free, with up to 888,000 points to be given away.
