TEACHERS of the Bursari Riayah Wa Mahabbah programme, Ministry of Education, organised a Hari Raya celebration yesterday at the Dining Hall of Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College (Maktab Duli), Gadong yesterday.
The Bursari Riayah Wa Mahabbah programme is an initiative of the Ministry of Education that is supported by Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD).
Present as the guest of honour from the Ministry of Education was Haji Abdul Rahim bin Derus, Director-General of Education. Present as a representative of BIBD was Haji Minorhadi bin Haji Mirhassan, Head of Government Relations and Special Projects.
The event began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa read by Ustaz Haji Saat bin Haji Mokim, an education officer.
The event then continued with a feast and mingling with students of Riayah Wa Mahabbah, who were joined by their parents.
The placement of Year 6 students at the Maktab Duli hostel was introduced in 2014 as an initiative of primary education in increasing performance and results of Primary School Assessment (PSR) for Year 6 students of government schools nationwide. This year, the initiative has gained support from BIBD for 40 students who tenant the Maktab Duli hostel.
