IN THE ongoing effort to keep the community safe and prevent crimes, a Neighbourhood Watch night operation was conducted in Kampong Labu Estate and Kampong Senukoh in the Temburong District recently.
Spearheading the patrol was ASP Pengiran Anak Haji Azanuddin Aman Shah bin Pengiran Anak Ismail Al-Haj, the Superintendent at Temburong Police Station.
Also present were Inspector Reynold @ Daniell Chin, the Assistant Superintendent, together with Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir, Village Head of Kampong Labu Estate, and Yusof bin Haji Maidin, Village Head of Kampong Senukoh in their capacity as chairman of the Neighbourhood Watch of their villages.
The Neighbourhood Watch members conducted a patrol on foot and by car in areas that were identified as prone to theft cases. However, no criminal cases were encountered during the patrol which ended late at night.
The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) said that such operation would be conducted from time to time to prevent house break-ins and thefts, as well as to monitor the safety of the villagers.
Meanwhile, a similar operation was conducted by the Kampong Ayer Police Station in collaboration with the Neighbourhood Watch in Kampong Lumapas ‘A’ recently.
Patrols were carried out in STKRJ Kampong Lumapas ‘A’, Kampong Kilugus, Kampong Sungai Asam, the Sungai Kebun parking areas and government flats near the Awang Semaun Secondary School.
The patrol was led by Inspector Muhammad Marzuqi Koo bin Abdullah, Officer-in-Charge of the Kampong Ayer Police Station. Members of the Kampong Lumapas ‘A’ Neighbourhood Watch were led by Village Head Haji Mohd Yassin bin Haji Hassan.
No suspicious activities were found during the operation.
