THE President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Tran Dai Quang and his spouse, Nguyen Thi Hien, yesterday visited the Royal Regalia Building in Bandar Seri Begawan.
Upon their arrival, the president and his spouse were welcomed by Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, and his spouse, Datin Hajah Kalshom binti Haji Suhaili.
Also present was Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education, in his capacity as the Minister-in-Attendence, and his spouse, Datin Hajah Asmah binti Haji Abdul Rahman.
The president and his spouse were given a briefing on the background of the Royal Regalia Building, by Hajah Fatimah binti Haji Aji, the Acting Director of Brunei Museums, which was then followed with a tour of the exhibition gallery.

Among the exhibits at the museum is the Royal Chariot which carried His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, in a procession around Bandar Seri Begawan, during the 1992 Silver Jubilee celebrations of His Majesty’s accession to the throne.
The tour continued with a signing of parchment and a presentation of Brunei traditional handicrafts as souvenirs to the president and his spouse, by Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi and his spouse.
