AS THE moon was not sighted, Hari Raya Aidiladha will fall on Monday, September 12, 2016 with the Sunnat Aidiladha prayer start at 7.30am.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) early yesterday evening held the moon-sighting for the month of Zulhijjah, 1437 Hijrah.
The event was held at the Multaqa Hall, ground floor, extension building at MoRA while waiting for the moon-sighting results carried out at the DST Headquarters Building in Tungku Link; Bukit Agok, Jerudong; Bukit Ambok, Tutong and Bukit Lumut, Belait.
Present at the event was Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs.
Also present were Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, special guests, permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries as well as senior government officers.

Abdul Hannan bin Amir, a Year 10 student from the Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School, reciting verses from the Al-Quran.
The event began with the recitation of verses from the Al-Quran by Abdul Hannan bin Amir, a Year 10 student from the Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School.
It was followed by recitation of Tahlil and Doa Arwah as well as a Doa Selamat, followed by mass Maghrib prayer and Sunnat Hajat Prayer. The Imam was Awang Haji Abdul Malik bin Haji Jumat, Mosque Affairs Officer, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The result of the moon-sighting was aired via Radio Televisyen Brunei.
Meanwhile, the Korban ceremony can be made after the Sunnat Prayer Aidiladha prayer for 11th, 12th and 13th of Zulhijjah 1437H.
