THE Vice President of the Civil Division of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales, Lord Justice Sir Martin James Moore-Bick, paid a courtesy call to the Chief Justice of Brunei Supreme Court, Dato Seri Paduka Haji Kifrawi bin Dato Paduka Haji Kifli, yesterday at the Supreme Court Building in the capital.
Sir Martin Moore-Bick was accompanied by the Sub-Treasurer of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple, Patrick Maddams. Present during the courtesy call were Justices of the High Court, Dato Paduka Steven Chong and Dato Paduka Haji Hairol Arni bin Haji Abdul Majid; the British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, David Campbell; and the Deputy British High Commissioner, Ben Boddy.
Sir Martin Moore-Bick will be attending the Commercial Law Forum, jointly organised by the Judiciary of Brunei Darussalam together with the British High Commission from September 6-7 at the Law and Courts Building.
Sir Martin Moore-Bick was called to the Bar in 1969 (Inner Temple) and was elected a bencher of the Inner Temple in 1992. He became a Queen’s Counsel in 1986 and was appointed a Recorder in 1990.

He was appointed to the High Court in 1995; and was assigned to the Queen’s Bench Division serving in the Commercial Court.
He served as Deputy Head of Civil Justice from January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2012. He was appointed as a Lord Justice of Appeal in 2005.
