THE Kampong Kilanas Mosque Takmir committee celebrated Hari Raya Aidiladha with a Korban ceremony held at the mosque yesterday morning.
Present as the guest of honour to distribute the Korban (sacrificial) meat was Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Seven buffaloes were sacrificed this year and the sacrificial meat was distributed to 26 poor and destitute recipients as well as committee members, working committee members and village residents.
The ceremony was held to encourage villagers and the mosque congregants to observe Korban ceremony in order to gain blessings from Allah the Almighty. In addition the ceremony also encourages the Takmir committee members to work together in carrying out the ceremony.
