THE new Deputy Minister of Defence, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, yesterday received a farewell call from outgoing Indonesian Defence Attaché (DA), Colonel Sun Suripto, at the Ministry of Defence, Bolkiah Garrison. He was accompanied by the incoming DA, Colonel (CZI) Widiyanto.
In interacting with the Deputy Defence Minister, Colonel Sun Suripto expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) for the good working relations enjoyed during his tenure in Brunei.
Deputy Minister of Defence First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz also expressed gratitude to Colonel Sun Suripto for the good work and services rendered to the Ministry of Defence and RBAF.
The deputy minister later wished him well in all future endeavours and welcomed incoming DA Colonel (CZI) Widiyanto, noting that the Ministry of Defence and RBAF are poised to work with him to build on the good relations established during the tenure of Colonel Sun Suripto.

Meanwhile, Royal Brunei Armed Forces Commander Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah also received a farewell call by Colonel Sun Suripto at the Ministry of Defence.
During the call, the RBAF commander expressed pleasure that Brunei and the Republic of Indonesia share cordial and active defence relationship with one another.
The RBAF commander thanked the outgoing Colonel Sun Suripto for his years of service in Brunei and congratulated Colonel (CZI) Widiyanto on being appointed as the new Defence Attaché.
The visit also touched on continued strengthening of defence relations between both countries and working together on other possible areas of defence cooperation. The RBAF commander also wished the outgoing Colonel well on his future endeavours.
