A KHATAM Al-Quran ceremony was held yesterday for 64 primary six students of the Jerudong International Religious School.
Attending as guest of honour at the Jerudong International School (JIS) Art Centre was First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, Deputy Minister of Defence.
The event saw the recitation of verses from the Al-Quran from all students, followed by the recitation of the Takhtim and the Doa Khatam Al-Quran read by one of the participants, Abdul Wa’ie bin Adanan.
Following a Dikir Marhaban performance, the Deputy Minister of Defence presented certificates to the students and sprinkled the traditional ‘bunga rampai’ (scented flowers) to the students to signify the completion of their Al-Quran reading.

Special guests, as well as the Principal of JIS Barnaby Sandow and parents and guardians of the students also took part in the sprinkling of the ‘bunga rampai’.
A Doa Selamat was also recited by Cikgu Norimy bin Haji Ahad to conclude the event.
