Members of the public pay last repects to Thai King at embassy

MEMBER of the public especially the Thai community residing in Brunei Darussalam yesterday afternoon flocked to the Royal Thai Embassy located at Simpang 682, Jalan Tutong to pay their last respects to Thailand’s King Bhumibol Adulyadej by signing the condolence book that is open from Monday until Thursday from 1.30pm to 4pm.

Some of the members of the Thai community who signed the condolence book recalled the fond memories of King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Pichapak Jiwjanboon in an interview expressed, “We, the Thai people, are in mourning of the passing of our beloved king.

“I will always fondly remember King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s effort in helping the people in the rural villages.”

Meanwhile, Urai Thougpoon who have been in Brunei for 34 years said, “I was really saddened when I heard of the news on the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej.” She remembered the king who strived to improve welfare of Thai’s people.

Beside the public, members of the diplomatic corps as well as officials from the various government agencies also signed the condolence book yesterday.

Also present were are Biravij Suwanpradhes, the Ambassador of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam and staff.
