THE Al-Quran Propagation and Study Centre (MABIMS) under the Ministry of Religious Affairs is organising a nationwide Al-Quran memorisation competition in 2017, which is open to all Muslim citizens and permanent residents of Brunei Darussalam.
The competition is divided into five separate categories of A, B, C, D and E.
Category A is open to participants aged 11 years and under, who were born during and after June 1, 2005. They are required to memorise the following chapters from Juzuk 30: Al-Buruuj, At-Thariq, Al-A’laa, Al-Ghasyiyah, Al-Balad, Asy-Syams, Al-Layl, Adh-Dhuha to An-Nas, Al-Fajr, and Al-Qadr.
Category B is open to students aged 17 years and under, who were born during and after June 1, 1999; and who have never studied in any local or international Tahfiz institute. They are required to memorise the following chapters: Luqman, As-Sajdah, Yaasiin, Ar-Rahman, Al-Waqi’ah, Al-Mulk, Surah Al-Insan, Al-Jumu’ah (an appreciation), Al-Munafiquun and At-Talaq.
Category C is open to all age groups, who were never recipients of the Tasmie’ Test Allowance in Al-Quran Memorisation in the Juzuk 10, 20 and 30 categories. They are required to memorise Juzuk 1 to 3, and to give an appreciation of Juzuk 1.
Category D is open to all age groups, who never received the Tasmie’ Test Allowance for the Juzuk 30 category. They are required to memorise Juzuks 1 to 15, and to provide an appreciation of Juzuk 11.
Category E is open to all age groups, who are required to memorise Juzuks 1 to 30, and to give an appreciation of Juzuk 22.
Registration forms can be obtained from the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Jalan Ong Sum Ping, and the closing date is on January 17, 2017.
