DPPMB, Peniagawati Malaysia meet to promote culinary expertise

THE Brunei Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DPPMB) and Association of Bumiputera Women in Business and Profession (Peniagawati) in Malaysia held a bilateral business meeting yesterday at the DuaoDua Conference Room in The Airport Mall.

The President of DPPMB, Dr Haji Kamaruddin bin Dato Seri Paduka Haji Talib, in an interview with the Weekend Bulletin highlighted that the resolution from the meeting was to promote culinary expertise and develop the country’s culinary field, particularly for those who are interested and already in the field by developing their skills to become celebrity chefs in the future.

“We will conduct a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between DPPMB and Peniagawati Malaysia and, with the MoU, we can promote it to other associations under DPPMB and bring up our culinary expertise to another level,” he said.

Meanwhile, the President of Peniagawati Malaysia, Dato’ Azlin Ahmad Shaharbi, said, “I am attending the BruXFit 2016 and bringing in two chef celebrities from Malaysia and Singapore.

“They will do cooking demonstrations and, at the same time, promote their food products… Because the food industry is always on demand and our objective is to promote their products as Malay women chefs, and we know that Malay women chefs have not yet made it on an international level so we are trying to give them exposure,” she added.

She also said that with the collaboration between DPPMB and Peniagawati Malaysia, it can really help both the culinary expertise and entrepreneurship of both countries.

The bilateral meeting yesterday was also attended by the other members of DPPMB as well as Peniagawati Malaysia.
