THE finals for the Al-Quran Tafsir presentation contest for religious schools were held on Tuesday at the hall of the Beribi Religious School.
The guest of honour who presented the certificates was Ustazah Hajah Mardiana binti Haji Leman, Head of the Human Resources and Scholarship Development Section, Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
In the male category, the champion was Muhammad Noor Fauzan Azizi bin Mazne from PJN Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar (BSM) Religious School, Mumong with his presentation titled ‘Nabi Muhammad Model Insan Terbaik’ while in the female category, the champion was Nur Syifa Haziqah binti Hussaini from Pelambayan Religious School with her presentation titled ‘Kebersihan Teras Kesejahteraan Ummah’.
As many as 249 participants took part in the selection stage which began on June 2 and ran until August 22 according to respective districts and areas.

From that number, five male and five female participants were chosen to participate in the finals.
The participants comprised religious school students from Years 4, 5 and 6.
The contest is an annual activity of the Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs, to educate, nurture and unearth talent among students in the field of presentation, in addition to producing future religious callers who are interested in the field.
