JIS Religious School celebrates students, 100% pass rate

FORTY-eight Jerudong Inter-national School (JIS) Religious School students were yesterday feted in a graduation ceremony at the Conference Room of the JIS Arts Centre, after having completed their Primary 6 session for the 2014/2015 academic year.

With a 100 per cent passes recorded this year, the school saw 40 of its students finishing with Grade 1, five with Grade 2, and three produced Grade 3 results.

Present as guest of honour to award certificates to the students was Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Three outstanding students – Hajah Nur Ruzana binti Haji Adnan, Amal Najihah binti Osmera and Farah A’liyah binti Haji Amer Hishamuddin – were rewarded for having performed exceptionally in their finals – scoring Grade 1 and Aggregate 5.

The ceremony commenced with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Norimy bin Haji Ahad, and was followed by a Rawi performance by the students.

In her speech, event chairperson Hajah Noraidah binti Haji Tengah, in her capacity as JIS Principal, congratulated the students for having obtained the overall 100 per cent pass rate. She also thanked JIS Principal Barnaby Sandow for the close cooperation established between JIS and JIS Religious School – particularly in terms of advancing the learning facilities for the religious students.

“We are very thankful to the principal who has introduced Firefly as a Computer Network to the Ugama Section, to help us improve in delivering religious teachings to the JIS community.

“We always hope that we can continue the cooperation between the Department of Islamic Studies of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) and JIS in every means of success,” she added.

Barnaby Sandow and the guest of honour later delivered their remarks before the ceremony continued with performances and a video presentation of the developments of the JIS Religious School.
