Special victory for Brunei at GITC

Four Brunei special needs students made the country proud, winning a gold medal and a silver medal at the Global IT Challenge (GITC) for Youth with Disabilities, held in Yangzhou city, Jiangsu Province in China recently.

Held for five days, the annual competition was organised by the Korean Society for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities (KSRPD) and comprised four different matches namely, e-Tool, e-LifeMap, eDesign and e-Creativity challenges. The Brunei team participated in all four categories.

Muhammad Azeezul Hakeen bin Yusof, a Year 11 student from Sayyidina Hasan Secon-dary School won gold medal in the e-LifeMap challenge. Among all of participants with autism across Asia-Pacific region, he was announced as the best and awarded the Best Challenger Award. He also received a Lenovo laptop and a certificate.
