THE Information Department yesterday held a personal contact programme at the residence of Haji Shahri Durahim, the Acting Village Head of Kampong Pudak.
This was one of the department’s ongoing activities through its Community Relations Unit, Society and National Division in order to continue to foster closer collaborations in community affairs.
The department’s delegation was welcomed by the acting village head as well as members of the Village Consultative Council and the Women’s Bureau.
Leading the delegates was the Acting Director of Information, Mawardi bin Haji Mohammad, who was also accompanied by officials and staff from various divisions and units.
The programme came under the department’s working strategy to improve bilateral relations between the government and the people, a platform to deliver government policies and intentions in order to preserve unity in the society.

It was also to get opinions and suggestions as well as to hear issues that should be looked into and acted upon by concerned parties.
The programme, geared to reach out to the public through personal contact, is still relevant in this day and age, as it offers a more personal touch that can lead to more efficient interactions and goodwill.
