SOME 50 members of the Women’s Institute of Brunei Darussalam (WI) yesterday attended a religious briefing held at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in conjunction with the celebration of Maulidur Rasul or the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
With the theme ‘Mencontohi Ketinggian Akhlak Nabi Muhammad SAW’, the briefing remembered the prophet’s deeds in upholding the teachings of Islam.
The co-chairperson of the event, Hajah Salmah binti Haji Tengah said Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is well-known for his good characteristics and should be an example to Muslims.
Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Mohamad Ali, Advisor of WI, said women are given high honour in Islam and have rights so they are not neglected and abused.
She advised the members of the association to emulate the characteristics of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and also teach the characteristics to the young generation.

The event continued with the religious briefing delivered by Ustazah Hajah Zunainah binti Haji Gunong, Senior Religious Officer at the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The event was also enlivened with the performance of Dikir Sulthon and Asma’ul Husna and concluded with a recitation of Doa Selamat by Hajah Siti Nuramanina binti Haji Wahid.
