BRUNEI Darussalam Tamiya Group yesterday conducted Tamiya 4WD Grand Sakura Race Finals at Freshco’s Supermarket, Plaza Abdul Razak, Batu Satu, to raise funds for Brunei representatives who will be participating in the Tamiya Autumn Cup & World Challenge Mini 4WD Cup Race in Shizuoka, Japan.
Tamiya enthusiasts flocked to the venue to show their support and participate in the event to have a chance at winning prizes in the fund-raising event.
Present to speak to the Bulletin was Finalis bin Haji Mohamad, one of the Brunei representatives who will be flying off to Japan, who explained that the Sakura Race has been going on for the past two months and it has been organised by the representatives themselves.
“This is a side event for us to warm up before the big event in Japan,” said Finalis. “At the same time, it is one of our events to raise funds for the trip from the tickets we’re selling during this event, aside from the pocket money that we already have.”
Finalis also added that a number of private companies have also sponsored their funds, one of which was Freshco Supermarket.
Eight of Brunei’s representatives will be flying off on November 18 to Japan until November 22.
