THE Attorney General, Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Hayati binti Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Salleh, received a courtesy call from the Ambassador of France to Brunei Darussalam, Loan Forgeron, at the Law and Courts Building in the capital yesterday.
During the courtesy call, the Attorney General joined in expressing the message of deepest condolences by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to the president and the peoples of the Republic of France following the recent deadly attacks in Paris. She reiterated His Majesty and the Government of Brunei Darussalam’s stand on condemning all acts of terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations.
In that regard, the Attorney General informed of Brunei Darussalam’s continuous efforts in combating terrorism, including the existing laws and regulations currently in place.
Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Hayati and Loan Forgeron exchanged views on various issues such as cooperation in technical assistance and information sharing.

On the exchange of views on various issues specifically women’s role and children’s welfare in Brunei Darussalam, Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Hayati and Loan Forgeron acknowledged the important role of women and children, and among others the equal opportunities accorded to women in Brunei Darussalam in many pertinent areas such as education and employment.
The courtesy call concluded with an exchange of tokens of appreciation.
Also present during the courtesy call were the Solicitor General, Dayang Naimah binti Mohd Ali and senior officers of the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC).
