ELEMENTS of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) were recently ashore in the Sultanate to perform day and night training in an urban environment as well as to enhance interoperability and partnership between the US and Brunei.
The 15th MEU is currently deployed in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to promote regional stability and security in the US 7th Fleet area of operations.
During their stay, US Marine Captain Kyle Kurtz showcased to the Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) Brigadier General Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud the different types of night vision and thermal imaging devices during the Combined Afloat Readiness and Training – Brunei 2015.
Kurtz is the Commanding Officer of India Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
Brigadier General Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan is Chief of the Army for the Royal Brunei Land Force.
