A CLEAN-UP campaign was carried out at the Gerai Muafakat area of Kampong Kiudang yesterday, by the Kiudang/Mungkom Village Consultative Council, in collaboration with the Tutong District Office and Tutong District Health Office.
Acting Tutong District Officer Haji Adnan bin Haji Adam was among the attendees who lent a helping hand in the clean-up.
The day included a talk on the importance of cleanliness delivered by Tutong District Health Office Medical Officer Pengiran Dr Sirajul Adli bin Pengiran Haji Jamaludin.
The clean-up is one of several activities carried out by the Kiudang/Mungkom Village Consultative Council to promote awareness among villagers on the importance of keeping the environment clean and also to prevent the breeding of disease-carrying mosquitoes.
The project has also been extended to other villages for mutual cooperation in keeping public areas clean, including the clearing of drains and streams.
Also in attendance were the Acting Assistant Officer of the Tutong District Office, the Penghulu of Mukim Kiudang, the Village Head of Kiudang/Mungkom; together with members of the Kiudang/Mungkom Village Consultative Council and Kampong Kiudang/Mungkom Neighbourhood Watch, and residents of Kampong Kiudang/Mungkom.
