THE Top 10 deejays (DJs) earned their spot in the finals of the Jerudong Park Country Club DJ Mix Competition after a grueling elimination round held at the Jerudong Park Amphitheatre yesterday.
Of the total, four will compete in the Rookies Class category, while the remaining six will battle it out in the Open Class category.
Contestants from the Rookies Class will be given 10 minutes to perform their mixes during the finals, while those in the Open Class will have 15 minutes.
Judging will be based music selection, quality, technical mixing ability, performance, creativity and crowd reaction.
Cash prize, certificates and other perks await winners.
Members of the public are welcome to witness the finals and support the local DJs today from 7pm to 10.30pm. On Sunday, a special DJ workshop will allow the public a closer look at DJ equipment, mixing styles and future collaborations in the music scene.
A variety of vendors will offer products ranging from food, clothes and merchandise on the day.
The event is organised by JPCC in collaboration with Leiley’s Production House and Black Teck Co, a local sound system manufacturer. Admission is free.
