HIS Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Deputy Sultan attended the royal ceremonial funeral of Al-Marhum Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Abdul Jalil Iskandar ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Laksamana Johor held at the Istana Besar Johor yesterday.
His Royal Highness attended the funeral as the personal representative of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, a press release said.
Present at the Senai International Airport, Johor to greet His Royal Highness were EXCO members of Johor Darul Ta’zim and members of the Johor Royal Court Council as well as officers from the High Commission of Brunei Darussalam in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Upon arrival, a Doa Selamat was recited by Tuan Sheikh Haji Fahmi bin A Samad, Kulaijaya District Kadi.
His Royal Highness then consented to board a motorcade towards Thistle Hotel, Johor Bahru where His Royal Highness resided. His Royal Highness was greeted by Rashid Gallyot, General Manager of the hotel.

His Royal Highness later consented to attend the funeral at the Istana Besar Johor, Johor Darul Ta’zim.
The arrival of His Royal Highness at the Istana Besar Johor was welcomed by Johor Darul Ta’zim’s dignitaries. His Royal Highness then consented to proceed with Their Majesties the Malay rulers to pay their final respects and then perform the zohor prayer and funeral prayer.
His Royal Highness then proceeded to join the procession towards the Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum for the funeral ceremony.
Al-Marhum Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Laksamana Johor was the fourth child of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Johor Darul Ta’zim. Al-Marhum Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Laksamana Johor was laid to rest at the Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum.
Accompanying His Royal Highness to the royal ceremonial funeral was Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance II.
