THE Maritime and Ports Authority of Brunei Darussalam has issued a press release reminding sailors and users of the Brunei River about the installation works for small buoys of garbage barriers in the Brunei River.
The implementation began yesterday until today in a number of areas near Mukim Saba.
Members of the public, especially boat drivers, are advised to be cautious and alert when travelling through the affected areas.
Observers lauded the move especially at time when the nation is spearheading a mammoth task to keep the nation free from litter that also pollutes the river.
The Brunei River will come alive tomorrow as the Brunei Darussalam Regatta race will be held in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 72nd birthday celebration.
