FIRE and Rescue Department organised a blood donation campaign at the first floor of KB Sentral Shopping Centre yesterday.
The campaign was held in conjunction with Fire and Rescue Department’s 58th anniversary.
Present was Acting Commanding Officer of Fire and Rescue Operation Branch ‘B’, personnel and staff members of Fire and Rescue Operation Branch ‘B’.
Public Relations Officer of Fire and Rescue Operation Branch ‘B’ Station Officer Azlina binti Haji Adnan said the annual event helps to increase blood supply of blood banks across the country. She hoped that the campaign will encourage the public to volunteer and learn the benefits of donating blood.
Seventy-five pints of blood were collected.
Booths were also set up to highlight the causes and dangers of fire.
Meanwhile, a similar event was also held at The Empire Hotel & Country Club’s blood donation drive on Thursday.
It was held in collaboration with the Blood Donation Centre of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.
Hotel staff, guests and members of the public participated in the event.
Sixty-one pints of blood were collected.
