Rome takes bulldozers to gaudy ‘mafia’ villas

ROME (AFP) – Police on Wednesday began bulldozing eight villas built illegally in a suburb of Rome by an alleged mafia clan renowned for its violence and gaudy lifestyle, as those evicted cried foul. As the walls toppled there were shouts of fury from members of the Casamonica, which has ethnic Sinti roots and reportedly runs drugs, fraud and extortion rings in Rome. Four in New Jersey mansion fire killed by ‘homicidal violence’

COLTS NECK, New Jersey (AP) — A family of four whose remains were found at the burned-down ruins of their New Jersey mansion was slain before the home was set ablaze, authorities said on Wednesday, hours after the mansion owner’s brother was arrested on suspicion of arson at his own house. Prosecutors sought to reassure the public that a random killer was not on the loose in the affluent community of Colts Neck, which is also home to some celebrities. Retailers aim to pick up business from defunct, dying rivals

Visitors flock to Russian missile cruiser

Huge crowds flocked to Muara Port to attend the open day of the Russian Pacific Fleet missile cruiser ‘Varyag’, yesterday. ‘Varyag’ is one of the premium class Russian-guided missile cruisers. 2,143 cyber attacks in Brunei last year

LAST year, the Brunei Computer Emergency Response Team (BruCert) recorded 2,143 attacks on cybersecurity in Brunei, of which 38 per cent was caused by malicious software. According to a survey by the World Economic Forum 2018, cyber attacks are listed as one of the key risks of doing business, while a study conducted by Accenture showed that a malware attack on a company will cost an estimated USD2.4 million, with an average time of recovery within 50 days.
