THE replacement and maintenance project for digital tyre inflators under Brunei Shell Marketing Co Sdn Bhd (BSM) is running smoothly at petrol stations. As of yesterday, 13 tyre inflators have been installed.
This was yesterday revealed by Mohd Adini bin Mohd Daini, Head of Branding and Communications of BSM, during a media briefing at the Masjory Petrol Station in Sengkurong, which is the latest petrol station to get a new digital tyre inflator installed.
Mohd Adini urged the public to help take care of the tyre inflators and to return the pressurised hose after use to avoid damage. To curb vandalism, many petrol stations have started the practice of disconnecting the hose from the inflator upon closing for the day, he said.
Explaining how to operate the digital tyre inflator, he said, “First set the tyre according to the recommended pressure, then use the plus or minus signs to either increase or decrease the pressure.”
After setting the set pressure, the user can start inflating the tyre. The inflator will make a sound when the set pressure is reached. In addition, there is also a button for deflating tyre pressure.
Members of the public who have problems with the new tyre inflator can seek assistance from the petrol station personnel.
In December last year, Brunei Shell Marketing Co Sdn Bhd announced that the 22 new units of digital tyre inflators would be installed in the beginning of this year, and is set to be completed by March.
