MUSLIMS in the Sultanate last night ushered in Hari Raya Aidiladha with special prayers – organised by the Mosque Affairs Department under the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) – at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah and the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque.
Attending the prayers at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah was the Minister of Religious Affairs, Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman.
Also present were the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar; Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof; and Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry Religious Affairs, Haji Harun bin Haji Junid and Haji Roslan bin Haji Taja’ah.
The event began with the recitation of the Surah Al-Fatihah led by Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad and was followed with a mass Takbir ceremony.
The event concluded with a thanksgiving prayer by Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Mat Jaya bin Haji Ibrahim.
