YAYASAN Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) held a briefing yesterday for the parents and guardians of 89 students who were chosen to participate in the 2016 Intervention Education Programme (PIP).

Attending the seminar was Haji Awang Mohammad Hanafi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Abdul Rahman, a member of the Yayasan Board of Directors.

“This year, the PIP centre is being relocated to the Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre in order to cope with the growing number of students and also with the hope that they will do their very best here,” said Haji Awang Mohammad Hanafi, in a speech addressed to the gathering.

The briefing was conducted by Cikgu Alimas bin Haji Mohd Ali, the Acting Principal of the YSHHB Primary School.

The Intervention Education Programme (PIP) is an initiative founded in 2006 by the YSHHB under its Community, Education and Religious Programme. It was initially intended to be an assistance programme for Kampong Ayer students sitting for their PSR exams, but later expanded to include SPE and ‘O’ Level students.

The students selected for the 2016 PIP Programme are from seven primary and secondary schools in the Brunei-Muara district: Bebuloh Primary School, Jerudong Primary School, Mulaut Primary School, Pengkalan Batu Primary School, Masin Secondary School, Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School and Sayiddina Husain Secondary School.
