ECSTATIC 18-year-old Maizifa Arissa binti Mydan was unable to contain her excitement as she started the engine of a brand new Toyota Wigo, as part of the grand lucky draw held to conclude the Brunei International Trade and Consumer (BITC) Exhibition 2016 at Bridex in Jerudong.
Of the estimated 40,000 draw entries, Maizifa’s lucky pick of the grand prize beat out nine others shortlisted to win the Toyota Wigo.
Having just turned 18 four months ago, the grand draw winner was at a loss for words with her new ride.
Speaking to the Bulletin, she explained that she is currently in the process of getting her driver’s licence, adding, “This feels so surreal… I was looking to buy a used car from my aunt, but now that luck is on my side, I do not have to worry about spending a single cent for a car.”

The nine other shortlisted participants took home consolation prizes, joining the 72 other winning draws who walked away with a variety of prizes.
The event, attended by dozens of BITC goers, was filled with lively anticipation of lucky winners being announced. Among the prize presenters were representatives of event sponsors.
The top prizes, however, were drawn and presented by event organiser, Cityneon’s Managing Director Dato Jack Ting Chai. Among the many sought after prizes included return Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) air tickets.
The second prize was a return ticket to Dubai; third prize, air tickets to Jakarta and fourth prize to Kuala Lumpur. Consolation prizes included consumer items including gadgets, electronics, clothing and cosmetic products.
