CRUISE over to the Mini Cooper roadshow at The Mall in Gadong this weekend, for a close-up look at the all-new MINI Clubman, along with a host of special offers for customers who want a car with style.
The new MINI Clubman, brought in by MINI Asia and QAF Auto Sdn Bhd, offers the highest level of everyday practicality, long-distance suitability, versatility and ride comfort ever seen in the MINI collection.
With four doors and the unique split door at the rear, five fully-fledged seats and a generously sized, versatile interior, the new MINI Clubman meets all the requirements of the compact class in terms of functionality in its own unconventional way, to conquer the premium compact segments.
“When the MINI Clubman was first presented in 2007, it was responding to a desire for space to accommodate more passengers and luggage, as well as expectations of a 21st century automobile in terms of comfort, safety and efficiency. It took the shooting brake concept in MINI style to a whole new dimension,” said the QAF Auto Group General Manager, Roger Fletcher.
He added, “Today, the new MINI Clubman far surpasses its predecessor, not only in dimensions, but in providing an overall better driving experience packed with more technology and innovation than before.”
The mature character of the new MINI Clubman is reflected in dimensions that are significantly larger than the previous model: a distinctive body concept, high-quality materials and finish quality and also a new feature on the areas of drive, suspension comfort, safety, controls and connectivity based on the latest MINI generation.
This character status is clearly shown in a comparison with the MINI five-door, with the Clubman extended to 4,253mm (271mm) in length and 1,800mm (73mm) in width, while its wheelbase is 2,670mm (103mm) longer.
The luggage compartment has a volume of 360 litres, which can be extended to double the size by folding down the rear backrest with its 40:20:20 split.
With output of 136 horsepower and a maximum torque of 220Nm, the 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine in the MINI Clubman also enables a sporty driving performance. The MINI Clubman can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.1 seconds, with top speed of 205 km/h.
The average fuel consumption is estimated at 5.4 litres per 100km and the carbon dioxide emission level has gone down to 125g/100km.
The MINI roadshow ends at 10pm tomorrow. Among the other models available for a test run are the special MINI John Cooper Edition and MINI Countryman, together with the MINI One and MINI Copper S.
QAF Auto Sdn Bhd is offering special packages for customers who purchase any MINI models at the same roadshow. The packages comprise a one-year free insurance, a five-year warranty, MINI vouchers worth $400, as well as a free one-night stay at The Empire Hotel & Country Club.
