FOURTEEN naval officers and four allied officers from the Pakistan Navy War College were recently in Brunei as part of a foreign study tour.
Led by Commodore Muhammad Iqbal Javaid, the officers called on First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, the Deputy Minister of Defence, to discuss matters of mutual interest and future collaboration in the training of officers.
During their four-day stay in Brunei, the commandant and his staff also made visits to the Brunei Museum, the Royal Regalia Building and the Legislative Council (LegCo) building.
The group even attended a LegCo meeting, and expressed admiration for the quality of deliberations during the conference sessions.
During a visit to the Pakistan High Commission in Brunei Darussalam, Ahmed Ali Sirohey, the Deputy High Commissioner, gave the officers a presentation highlighting the strong diplomatic and defence ties between both countries.

The delegation also called on Royal Brunei Armed Forces Commander Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, to discuss matters in the field of defence, defence products, training and exchange visits.
The officers’ itinerary included a friendly gathering on March 8 with members of the Pakistani community in Brunei.
