WITH the aims of producing pious individuals as well as to provide all-rounded education in the mental, physical and spiritual aspects amongst students, a religious programme was held yesterday at the Mahad Islam Brunei and Tanjong Maya Religious School in the Tutong District.

It included a Tazkirah (a religious form of remembrance) entitled “Wahai Pelajar-Pelajar, Solatlah, Bagaimana Mentaatinya?” (Translation: ‘O students, let’s pray, how to obey this obligation?’), followed by the recitations of Asmaul Husna (describing the beautiful names of Allah the Almighty) and verses from the Al-Quran, as well as the recitation of ‘Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam’.

Some 287 Mahad Islam Brunei students from Years 5 to 8 took part in the programme. Giving the Tazkirah at Mahad Islam Brunei was one of its academicians, Ustaz Saifullah bin Haji Awang Tengah.

Meanwhile, 92 other students also took part in the programme at Tanjong Maya Religious School, where the Tazkirah was presented by senior teacher Pengiran Asnanni bin Pengiran Haji Suhaili.
